This qualification does not have mandatory entry requirements at the time of publication on training.gov.au. However, the RTO requires candidates to meet its admission requirements prior to enrolling into this qualification.
RTO’s admission requirements:
Domestic Students
| o Minimum age of 18 years and above o Satisfactory completion of the equivalent of Australian Year 11 or higher o Have physical attributes suitable for working in the automotive industry that encompasses manual handling of equipment including lifting and carrying heavy objects within scope of safe working practices (i.e. removing and fitting engine electrical components and parts) o Complete the Pre-Training Review and Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) test. If the learner has done the Pre‐Training Review and LLN assessment previously at Menzies Institute of Technology for a previous qualification in the same stream enrolment, then it is not required. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
International Students
| o Minimum age of 18 years and above o Satisfactory completion of the equivalent of Australian Year 11 or higher o Have physical attributes suitable for working in the automotive industry that encompasses manual handling of equipment including lifting and carrying heavy objects within scope of safe working practices (i.e. removing and fitting engine electrical components and parts) o English Language Requirements (meet one of the requirements outlined below) 1.
Note: Results older than two years are not acceptable (for offshore applicants) OR 2. Evidence that they have studied in English for at least five years in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom or United States OR 3. Evidence that, within two years of their application date, they have successfully completed in Australia a foundation course or a senior secondary certificate of education or a Certificate III or higher level qualification, from the Australian Qualifications Framework. OR 4. Applicants originating from students visa assessment levels 1 and 2 countries without the required IELTS or equivalent score must undertake the Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) test. For further information on student visa assessment levels visit Department of Home Affairs’ website at www.homeaffairs.gov.au. Additionally, the learner is required to: o Complete the Pre-Training Review. This qualification is delivered:
- Classroom Blended including classroom sessions, self-study and assessments at home and simulated workplace environment.
at Menzies Adderley Campus – 113 Adderley Street, West Melbourne and Level 4, 355 Spencer Street, Melbourne, Victoria 3000 – Theory only.
This course will only be delivered and assessed in Victoria and not offered for interstate students.

– Prospective learner previews information about course and the Institute. Information sources include but not limited to online, print, seminar/exhibition & marketing event. – Prospective learner makes an enquiry to the Institute. Prospective learners may make the inquiry using online methods (website, Facebook, email), by phone or walk-in to the Institute. – Discuss with Marketing and Admissions Staff about the training product. |
Provide all information and documentation as required. The prospective learner is required to complete Pre-Training Review Form. Sit for the pre training interview to determine the suitability to the training product. Offshore students will participate to the interview via (video conferencing or teleconferencing)
Prospective leaner completes the Student Application Form and sign Privacy Notice and Student Declaration – which is the formal application endorsement.

Once the applicant is accepted, the Letter Of Offer will be issued.
Sign and accept the Letter of Offer (LOO) which is the final stage for the applicant to understand and agree to all terms and conditions of the LOO. Then make payment as outlined in the LOO and arrange the initial payment required to confirm enrollment.
Receive Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) by the student and also provide information regarding orientation day.

Book Flights and Arrange Accommodation -Book your flights to Melbourne and arrange accommodation for the duration of your study. If airport pickup is required, confirm arrangements with the Institute.
Departure & Arrival -Ensure you have packed all necessary belongings. Ensure your airport pickup and accommodation arrangements are finalised. Bring copies of your enrolment, and accommodation arrangements.
The applicant will be sent an email to complete the mandatory Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) test. (This step can be completed before or after the Orientation but must be done before the commencement of training)
Attend Orientation Session Compulsory session to receive all course and student orientation information, student registration, uniform sizing and student ID cards issuance.
Student to commence the training relevant to the selected course.
